I saw two things I'm incredibly fannish about on Christmas, one which was better than I had expected and one which was so bad that I can't believe it wasn't a fever dream ... predict which one's which!

so, there's 2 movies coming out in the near future that in theory I should be thrilled about, but are in one way or another bumming me out ... one is the Robert Downey Jr/Jude Law "Sherlock Holmes" and the other is a new version of "I, Claudius".

An interesting botanical note of interest ... some plants increase in potency the longer they dry after they've been picked. you can see this is peppers, for one - we had a clump of chili peppers hanging in the kitchen for years, and by the time we finally ate them they attained the potency of napalm ( Read more... )
